Level 1 Certification - $399.00

PMCC Level 1 certification is a two-day class designed for the student ready to step beyond the basics.

Each of the four projects in this class combines two or more metal clay construction techniques and challenges the student to create jewelry that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Students explore and demonstrate mastery of basic hollow forms; carving green ware; ring sizing and construction, setting faceted stones, controlled syringe drawing, and forming sheet clay, as well as incorporating functional elements such as bails and embedded wire.

Projects are evaluated according to the care taken with design, joining, finishing, attention to detail, and the student’s understanding of the material covered in discussions. Completion of the class prepares the student for PMCC Certification Levels Two and Three and entities the student to a Certified Artisan discounts honored by most metal clay suppliers.

Level 2 Certification - 5.00

The PMC Connection Certification Section 2 is another two day class. It presents advanced techniques using the 4 types of PMC+ and PMC3 (clay type, paste, syringe and sheet). The workshop is open to those who have completed basic Certification in PMC or Art Clay Silver. The class systematically takes the student from the projects of Section I to even more complex projects.

The goal of the class is to make the student comfortable with silver clay techniques for making, firing and finishing, using 4 different projects. The techniques are very specific but the students still are allowed room for personal creativity in their designs. This more advanced understanding of PMC will offer an expanded base for the student to use PMC more extensively.

Level 3 Certification - $375.00

The PMC Connection Certification Level 3 is a new two day class. It presents advanced techniques using the 3 types of PMC3 (clay type, paste and syringe). The workshop is open to those who have completed Level 2 Certification in PMC or Art Clay Silver. The class takes the student beyond the projects of Levels 1 and 2 to even more complex projects.

The goal of the class is to make the student comfortable with advanced silver clay techniques for making, firing and finishing, using just 2 projects. As with the prior classes, the techniques are very specific but the students are encouraged to explore personal creativity in their designs. This more advanced understanding of PMC will offer an expanded base for the student to use PMC more extensively.
